Entrepreneurship: How to Balance Life and Career?

Balancing life and career is always difficult, but can be particularly challenging for the entrepreneur. Being a working mother (or father), caretaker for other family members, being there for friends and loved ones, living up to community obligations and having time for yourself can all conflict with trying to launch and grow your own business.

Entrepreneurs often have tunnel vision, a necessity for getting it all done. Who do you turn to when other obligations conflict with your goal? How is it possible to balance family and a new business? How do you make family a priority without neglecting your business?

Learn from other entrepreneurs, share your frustrations and your solutions.

During this two hour discussion, participants will:

• Share experiences

• Share strategies for overcoming obstacles

• Learn from one another

• Develop a support network Methods:

Methods:

• Participants can initiate discussion topics and questions and can submit them in advance

• Moderator will introduce topic items if needed and lead discussion

• Participants will all have an opportunity to speak

• No presentations -- all interactive collaboration

Schedule/Format:

11:00    Registration - Informal Networking - Lunch Served (sandwiches and snacks)
11:30    Individual Introductions and Topic Introductions
12:30    Moderated Discussion
01:30    Expanded Discussion
02:00    Open Networking
03:00    Close of Session

Main Program is from 11:30 - 1:30; Participants can take advantage of as much or little as they choose
