Marketing Your Best Asset: YOURSELF!

This is NOT your usual presentation.  This is a fun, but serious, completely interactive workshop. 

While websites, brochures, and business cards are all important aspects of promoting your business, have you put as much time into developing your best asset -- YOU?  The best designed marketing materials are no substitute for that personal connection.  How well are you communicating you message?  How effective are you at making connections? 

During this two hour seminar, participants will:

• Practice the "elevator speech:" the 30 second, 45 second, and 1 minute pitch -
  (refers to the concept that when in an elevator, you only have a short time to say what you do, and be memorable)

• Learn how to promote yourself without overselling -- if you have to convince, something is missing

• Learn how to communicate your message effectively but efficiently -- less is more

• Practice speaking about yourself with confidence -- if you don't believe in you, nobody else will

• Listen to friendly peer critiques and feedback -- the best way to improve is to understand how others hear your message

Methods:

• No presentations, all participation -- just jump in and do it

• Listen to the presentations of others -- see what you like and don't like about other pitches

• Listen to feedback of your pitch -- it doesn't matter what you think you said, it matters how others heard it

• Tests to determine if your pitch is memorable -- that's what matters most

Registration:   Must pre-register and pre-pay by Thursday, January 17, 2008, by 12 noon
